Thank you for your email, received on October 15^th 2018. You requested
the following information, under the Local Government Official Information
and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA):

 

Please break down the costings of the reported $38 million build of the
QEII pool. In particular how much was spent on the chlorination plant; how
many pools (numbered, listed and named) does the chlorination plant serve.

 

Response:

 

While the Christchurch City Council are still to agree the Final Account
with Apollo Projects Ltd, the Design & Build contractor, the Forecast
Total Cost for the project is currently $38,398,632.  This gives a
projected underspend of $236,510 which is shown as Project Contingency.

 

The Total Budget for the project is $38,635,142 ($38,398,632 + $236,510).

 

The cost of the Chlorine Generation plant, including the plantroom where
it is installed, is $960,736.  This is made up of $951,736 Construction
cost + $9,000 for Professional Fees.  These costs are included in the
Forecast Total Cost shown above.

 

The Chlorine Generation plant provides chlorine for all the pools at
Taiora QEII - the main 25m ten lane lap pool, learn to swim pool,
hydrotherapy pool, spa pool, leisure pool with lazy river, toddlers' pool,
splash deck with water adventure playground and the 130m Aquasphere
hydroslide.   It also provides sufficient chlorine for all the other
Christchurch City Council's pools with the exception of the proposed Metro
Sports Facility which will have its own Chlorine Generation plant.

 

Please find attached a cost report showing the cost breakdown of the
Taiora QEII project.
