Dear Margaret Meek,

Sorry, can you please explain which part or parts of this request are substantial ?

Hello Donna

Thank you for your email. There are approximately 1,000 pages work of information relating to reports and meeting minutes for the time period you have requested. We will need to review each document to determine what information needs to be withheld in accordance with the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987. Please note that it is likely that a large portion of the information you have requested will need to be withheld in accordance with sections 7(2)h) and 7(2)(f)(i) on the grounds that withholding the information is necessary to enable any local authority holding the information to carry out, without prejudice or disadvantage, commercial activities; and to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and frank expression of opinions by or between or to members or officers or employees of any local authority.

Timetable changes which are planned to be made can be found in section 5 of Report 18.457, which can be found here:
http://www.gw.govt.nz/committee-meetings...

Should you still require all the documents requests we will likely seek a time extension and/or consider charging you for the supply of information to you.

Please contact me directly should you wish to discuss your request further.

Regards

Margaret

Dear Margaret Meek,

OK. Would it make it easier to reduce the timeframe from since October 2017 to just the months of May, June and July 2018 ?

Also, when I asked for the timetables that have changed or planned to change, what I really want is the actual new timetables for each of the routes. OK ?

Yours sincerely,

Donna Smith

Hello Donna

I have attached a link to our website that sets out new timetables and timetable changes which are due to occur on 11 November- is that what you're after?
https://www.metlink.org.nz/service-updat...

In terms of the scope of your request, reducing it to May, June, July should make things easier to manage. Note that we will still need to withhold information from these documents.

Margaret

Dear Margaret Meek,

I reread the report from the committee meeting and the bus report says there are more timetable changes planned for February. Can you please tell me when the timetables for these changes will be prepared and told to the bus operators ?

Hello Donna

I understand that the draft timetables for February (which cover routes serviced by NZ Bus) have been prepared and provided to the bus company in line with the company's notice period required for implementing service changes.

Hello Donna

We would prefer not to send through the draft timetables as they are still very much subject to change. Once agreed to, we would be happy to send you a copy of the timetables.

Hello Donna

We have elected to withhold these draft timetables from you in accordance with section 7(2)(i) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (the Act) on the ground that withholding this information is necessary in order to enable GWRC to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage, negotiations.

We have considered whether the public interest in the requested information outweighs GWRC’s need to withhold the draft timetables requested. As a result, we do not consider that the public interest outweighs GWRC’s reason for withholding the document under this ground.

If you have any concerns with the decision(s) referred to in this letter, you have the right to request an investigation and review by the Ombudsman under section 27(3) of the Act.

Regards

Margaret

Dear Margaret,

Really ?

If you won't let me have these draft timetables, can you at least tell me when you will have finalised the timetables in the contracts and so can provide them ?

Also, can you also tell me how you are getting on with the reports I also requested ?

Yours sincerely,

Donna Smith
