Citizens seeking compensation over unlawful arrest
Aaron Kirk made this Official Information request to Independent Police Conduct Authority
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Independent Police Conduct Authority should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Aaron Kirk
Dear Independent Police Conduct Authority,
What process will a citizen need to go through when seeking compensation for an unlawful arrest?
If a judge has found an officer guilty of an unlawful arrest and the citizen wants to seek declarations and general / explemary damages - will the IPCA not uphold a complaint and seek to proffer redress?
Yours faithfully,
Concerned Citizen
From: Aaron Kirk
Dear Independent Police Conduct Authority,
It has come to my attention that you are deliberately delaying responding to my questions and by law you should have responded by now.
I will give you another opportunity to address my initial questions under the OIA request before seeking legal advice.
Yours faithfully,
Aaron Kirk
