I have referred the decision by DPMC to not release the Cabinet agenda to the Ombudsman. I've done this on the basis that I contest the quoted 'long held view by the Cabinet Office.' I believe it has no basis in law on the grounds that the Cabinet agenda only lists what is to be discussed in the most general terms and reveals no content that would affect collective responsibility i.e. the Cabinet Papers themselves. At post-Cabinet press conferences, the Prime Minister frequently lists matters as having been discussed making any secrecy about the actual agenda document irrelevant.
