Hi Keith...just a littke heads up incase your dragged through a 90 days wait with fruitless results.

Best prepare a request to the privacy commissioner aswell. There is a good chance you may strike a brick wall where 'protecting privacy of a deceased person' is concerned.

Just a thought

Regards

Anthony

Dear REID, David (Dave),
Hello again
It seems that I have this record already and it pertains to the Autopsy and findings of the Coroner.
However it was this record which persuaded me to contact NZ Police as there were inconsistencies contained therein.
What I would really be interested in are reports from the Police who attended the scene. Who would hold these please?

Yours sincerely,

Keith Galbraith

HI Keith

Further to your email of 14 February 2018, further checks have been
carried out for the information you seek. Records are dealt with in
accordance with a Retention and Disposal Schedule and, due to the age of
the matter, Police no longer hold the file.

It seems the only information available to you is the record of the
Coroner you are aware of, held by Archives New Zealand.

Your request was considered in accordance with the Official Information
Act 1982 but is “refused” pursuant to section 18(e) of the Act - that the
document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist or,
despite reasonable efforts to locate it, cannot be found.

If you are not satisfied with my response to your request you have the
right to complain to the Office of the Ombudsmen and seek an investigation
and review of my decision.

I regret I cannot help you further.

Regards
