Dear Richard

Further to your enquiry about RG 3b and RG 3g birth certificates.

An RG 3b was a short form birth certificate that was available for purchase up until 01 September 1995, it contained a person's full name and also their date and place of birth. This type of birth certificate is no longer available and has been replaced by the standard birth certificate (BDM 107) which includes additional information relating to the subject's parent(s).

Please note that in September 1995 the numbering of all Births Deaths and Marriages forms was updated and the RG 3g (standard birth certificate) was renamed the BDM 107. If you would like to purchase a standard birth certificate (BDM 107) the current fee is $33, you will also need to provide evidence of your identity.

More information about ordering a birth certificate can be found on our website: https://www.govt.nz/browse/nz-passports-...

Thank you for your enquiry.

Dear Graham Stronach,
Hi there thanks for your reply i was wondering when my birth certificate was obtained before 1995 it is a bdm 107 and not a rg3b could you please clarify . The certificate of date of birth is singed in wet ink and not a stamp like on the bdm 107 and it has a very different lay up it doesn't show the parents particulars on it either. You said in your reply that the rg3b changed to the bdm 107 September 1995 and no information on the rg3g could you please clarify

Yours sincerely,

Richard

Further to your enquiry.

Can you please advise me of the date that this birth certificate was issued. This date will be located somewhere near the bottom of the certificate near to where the Seal and/or Signature of the Registrar is located.
