(a) How many people were moved into the private rental market?
(b) How many people are now living in emergency accommodation?
(c) How many people were evicted because the house was the wrong size?
(d) How many people were evicted because the house was in the wrong location?

Dear Ms Cole

I am writing to clarify the information you are requesting.

Housing New Zealand ends tenancies by issuing a 90-day notice, which asks
tenants to vacate the property within that time period. An eviction is a
different process, which takes place when a court bailiff is authorised to
obtain possession of a property after the tenancy has been ended by the
Tenancy Tribunal, and the tenant has not vacated it.

Could you please clarify if you were looking for data related to 90-day
notices specifically?

Also could you please confirm that you would like this information for the
financial years 2013/14, 2014/15, and 2015/16?

You can contact me directly on [1][email address] or on 04 439
3743.

Kind regards

Alicia

house was the wrong size, location or the tenant was over the income
threshold.

The Ministry has decided to grant your request in part, some information
