Disclose the details of the appointment process used to employ a private company to assist in conducting compliance schedule random inspection audits

Roger Murrow made this Official Information request to Palmerston North City Council

The request was successful.

From: Roger Murrow

Dear Palmerston North City Council,

Please disclose the details of the appointment process used to employ a private company to assist in conducting compliance schedule random inspection audits.

The following questions have been raised as the result of a private company auditing its competitors
1. What is the council’s policy regarding the awarding of contracts to the private sector?
2. How was the appointment process managed in this instance?
3. Was more than one company considered?
4. How did the company that has been awarded the contract come to be considered for this contract?
5. What are the selection criteria?
6. Was consideration made regarding the competitive advantage the council was handing to the company concerned? And was there any agreement entered into, to mitigate any advantage perceived or otherwise? If not why not?

Yours faithfully,
Roger Murrow

Subject: Promapp supports GoShift

The GoShift team has been working with Promapp and is pleased to announce
Promapp will generously support us by providing free resources and
expertise until the end of March 2018 to help us to develop the QMS.

[2]Promapp, which is used by more than 60,000 users around the world, is
process management software that helps companies build, improve and share
their process knowledge from a central online repository.  GoShift
appreciates their generous support.

Shortly we will be providing all GoShift councils with a Promapp log on so
that you can contribute to this important work stream.  Next week, the QMS
technical leadership group is meeting to discuss the first drafts of reg
8, 9 and 10.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me, or any of the team, if you
have any queries.

Best wishes

Jacqui
