Dear Invercargill City Council,
I noted- Independent Member - Water Committee
Invercargill City Council are seeking an Independent Member with water services expertise to join the newly established Water Committee as Deputy Chair. This is a significant governance appointment at a pivotal time as Council moves from planning to implementation of its Water Services Delivery Plan (WSDP) under the Local Water Done Well framework.
Applications close on 11th February 2026.
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad and associated document for applicants as well. Also, how many applications you have received for each of the role from the public and how many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.

I refer to your request dated 12 February 2026 relating to our recruitment
for an Independent Member of our Water Committee.
I have attached the advertisement that was used for your information. My
responses are below for you. My response is in italics. Please advise if
this does not work for you and if you have a preferred response system
please let me know and I will be happy to change to that for you.
1) May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what
platform you have call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. We
contracted Sheffield to run this recruitment for us. Via Sheffield we
advertised on the Institute of Directors website, Appoint Better Boards
Website, Seek, LinkedIn, Sheffield’s website and the ICC website.
2) A copy of your ad and associated document for applicants as well.

3) Also, how many applications you have received for each of the
role from the public and; We received 19 Applications
4) How many you have received from other nominating agencies such as
TPK or Ministry of women etc. for your role. We did not have any
nominating agencies for this role as this is not a Crown Appointment role.
5) How many you have shortlisted and; 12 Candidates were
shortlisted.
6) How many you have interviewed. We are yet to interview, but will
interview 4 candidates.
