Dear New Zealand Transport Agency,
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request:
1. copies of any correspondence (including emails, letters, and attachments) between Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and Tesla New Zealand, Tesla, Inc., or any Tesla representatives relating to the regulatory approval, certification, homologation, importation, or planned release of any new or additional Tesla Model 3 variants for the New Zealand market since 1 October 2025.
This includes, but is not limited to, correspondence referencing:
* “Model 3 Standard” variant (known as the new affordable model 3)
* Right-hand-drive compliance for new model
* Vehicle type approval or certification
* Import or entry processes
2: Any VIN ranges or VIN block allocations approved for Tesla Model 3 variants not currently offered in New Zealand
