Dear Ministry of Education,

I am writing to request information under the Official Information Act 1982.

I am seeking a breakdown of how Teacher Development Aotearoa (NEX Funding) was spent by science-related subject associations between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2024. In particular, I am interested in funding awarded to or used by the following associations:

New Zealand Association of Science Educators (NZASE)

Secondary Chemistry Educators of New Zealand (SCENZ)

New Zealand Institute of Physics (NZIP) education arm

Please provide:

The total amount of NEX funding allocated to each of the above associations during the period.

A detailed breakdown of how each association spent or intends to spend the funds (e.g. staffing, travel, resource development, events, professional development delivery).

Any funding agreements, reports, or accountability documents submitted to the Ministry by these associations regarding their NEX funding use.

Any communications or internal documentation that discuss or summarises the use or effectiveness of NEX funding by these science-related associations.
