Dear Health New Zealand,
I am requesting the following information, broken down by each former District Health Board
1. The demographic breakdown of the population served in each district (e.g. ethnicity, age, gender where available).
2. The demographic breakdown of the health workforce, specifically junior and senior doctors and nurses employed in each district (e.g. ethnicity, age, gender where available).
3. Copies of any current policies, procedures, or frameworks in place to ensure culturally safe care where there is a significant mismatch between the demographics of the patient population and the demographics of the staff providing care.

Health New Zealand on 17 April. On 6 May 2025, Health New Zealand
transferred question 1 of this request to Stats NZ.
I am requesting the following information, broken down by each former
District Health Board

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as reasonably
practicable and in any event no later than 4 June 2025, being 20 working
days after the day on which your request was transferred to Stats NZ. If
we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an
extension of that timeframe.
