On 6 May 2025, your Official Information Act request was transferred from Health New 
Zealand – Te Whatu Ora to Stats NZ. You requested, under the Official Information Act 
1982 (the Act), the fol owing information: 
  •  The demographic breakdown of the population served in each district (e.g. 
ethnicity, age, gender where available) 
 
Your request for this information is refused under section 18(d) of the Act as this 
information is publicly available and can be found at Stats NZ’s Aotearoa Data Explorer 
tool here.  
 
The Aotearoa Data Explorer is a free online tool that presents data in a searchable, 
flexible, and dynamic way. It is an interactive web browser interface where you can view,
