    Dear Mr Pritchard

I refer to your request received on 6 July 2015 under the Official
Information Act 1982 (OIA) relating to information on the total recorded
criminal offences in Lower Hutt between 1 July 2014 and 30 June 2015 .

Police no longer updates Official Statistics for recorded offences which
were last published for the year ending 31 December 31 2014 on 1 April
2015. Instead Police now produces Recorded Crime Offender Statistics
(RCOS) and Recorded Crime Victim Statistics (RCVS).

These new data collections are published monthly and are publicly
available on the Statistics New Zealand (www.stats.govt.nz) website and
can be broken down to Police Area boundaries.

Although for the reason above none of the information you have sought has
been provided with this letter, I trust my response is still helpful in
guiding you to on-line holdings for such data.

As you may already be aware, you have the right under section 28(3) of the
OIA to seek a review of my handling of your request by the Office of the
 Ombudsmen.

Yours sincerely
