From: Kyle
Dear Auckland Transport,
Please provide information requested below under OIA
1. How many total alleged T2/T3 lane infringements have you issued during time period 01-Jan-2022 to 24-September-2024 with in the Auckland region ? (entire geographic region that fall under your partial OR full oversight)
2. How many of those infringements above, were either waived/cancelled/let off with a warning because the recipients of the said infringements claimed Auckland transport failed to detect one OR more KIDS (a person less than 18 years old) in the vehicle at the time alleged offense occurred ?
(in the vehicle in this case meaning anywhere in the vehicle front or back seats)
3. How many of those infringements above were either waived/cancelled/let off with a warning because the recipients of the said fines claimed that Auckland Transport failed to detect one or more PASSENGERS (both adults & kids) in the vehicle at the time alleged offense occurred ?
(in the vehicle in this case meaning anywhere in the vehicle front or back seats)
4. With in the given time period in question 1 above, how many cases of those incorrectly issued infringements has Auckland Transport either internally OR public have recognized/acknowledged as due to camera equipment used for T2/T3 surveillance failing to detect passengers in a vehicle ?
Yours faithfully,
Kyle

Kia ora Kyle
My name is Ashleigh and I’m a LGOIMA Business Partner at Auckland
Transport.
I’m responsible for looking into the official information request you made
on 25 September regarding T2/T3 lane infringements.
The LGOIMA requires that we let you know our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore letting you know of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to 28 October 2024.
This extension is necessary because consultations within Auckland
Transport are necessary to make a decision on your request. Therefore, a
proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
You are able to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available
at [1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Kind regards,
Ashleigh
LGOIMA Business Partner
