Fund allocation for road repairs due to damage

Dave Sharpe made this Official Information request to Hutt City Council

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Dave Sharpe to read a recent response and update the status.

From: Dave Sharpe

Dear Hutt City Council,

I’m keen to find out whether there has been funding allocated for repair of the road between Point Howard and Eastbourne, as part of Tupua Horo Nuku project. We know the project is progressing well, and can also see things such as Bird Protection Areas being included as part of this project (which I applaud).

The reason I’m asking, is there’s clear and obvious damage already happening to the road surface, which has increased dramatically since the commencement of this project.

I’d like to know:
- has there been funding for road repair/remediation allocated as part of this project
- if so, how much has been allocated, and
- when will the repairs and remediation take place (as damage occurs, or once the project has been completed will the road be resurfaced)

If no funding has been allocated for additional damage done to this stretch of road as a direct result of the heavy vehicles involved in this project, why not? In this instance, does HCC have an estimate of the cost of the repairs for the duration of the project?

Thanks in advance

Dave Sharpe
