Dear Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities,

Under the OIA, I would like a copy of all Kainga Ora policies relating to the application and selection process for prospective residents or tenants at the Waitapu Apartments.

I’m particularly interested in the role of the real estate agent and the role of Kainga Ora from the start to finish i.e. the process from application stage until selection stage.

I would also like to see any policies or documented practice that Kainga Ora staff must follow when a tenant (at Waitapu) hands in their notice to vacate i.e. what happens to the vacated property; how and when can interested parties apply; who receives and makes a decision on the applications; etc.

The real estate agent and Kainga Ora staff have been providing conflicting messages about these matters. Receiving the requested information ASAP would be helpful in getting some clarity about this.
