Thank you for your OIA request. We respond as follows.

1. What NIWA business was being conducted at the Lake Wanaka boat ramp or on Lake Wanaka on Easter Sunday 2024?

The research being carried out by NIWA was a programme of mapping Lake Wanaka bathymetry to increase understanding of natural hazards and water quality.

2. Can I please have a copy of NIWA's vehicle policy and/or the management guidelines around use of NIWA vehicles?

NIWA's vehicle policy is attached.

Please note, under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
