Dear Airways Corporation of New Zealand Limited,

I am requesting a copy of the latest version of Manual of Air Traffic Services (MATS) manual in electronic format, ideally PDF in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982.

The MATS manual gives the precise phraseology that Air Traffic Service personnel in New Zealand use for Radio Telephony in communication with pilots and importantly what answers are expected by Air Traffic Services from pilots.

As a pilot in New Zealand this MATS manual will be a valuable tool as a reference guide for Radio Telephony communications with Air Traffic Services in New Zealand.

I am a New Zealand citizen, residing in New Zealand and hold a valid New Zealand pilot license at the time of making this request. You generally have 20 working days to respond to this notice, as required by law. Your response will be published publicly on the fyi.org.nz website.
