Request for 'Guardians of the Golden Mile' Correspondence Regarding LGWM Project

John Wilson made this Official Information request to Wellington City Council

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Wellington City Council should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: John Wilson

Dear Wellington City Council,

I formally request all correspondence between Wellington City Council and 'Guardians of the Golden Mile' (GGM) regarding the Let's Get Wellington Moving (LGWM) project under the LGOIMA, including emails, letters, reports, and other relevant documents from council employees or officials.

Of particular interest is the letter reportedly sent by Michael Wolff to the Wellington City Council, as mentioned in the NZ Herald article titled "Legal action launched over plan to remove cars from Wellington’s Golden Mile" dated 20 September.

Yours faithfully,

John Wilson

Kia ora,

Thank you for your response to my request.

Given that it is now July 2024, I would like to follow up on the status of the correspondence I requested. Specifically:

Are there any plans for the withheld correspondence to be made public in the near future? If so, could you provide an estimated timeline for its release?

If the information will not be released, could you please clarify why the public interest in disclosing the correspondence does not outweigh the reasons for withholding it?

I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your response.

Ngā mihi,
John Wilson
