I refer to your request of 11 June 2023 to Waipapa Taumata Rau, the
University of Auckland. The University’s response follows:

 

“Could I ask for the total number of Senior Scholar award recipients in
the 2022 Bachelor of Science graduating class (i.e. those who graduated
with a BSc on May 3rd, 2022) and the % that these recipients constitute of
the entire BSc graduates (e.g. top 5%)?”

 

20 Senior Scholar awards were made to Bachelor of Science students
eligible to graduate at the University’s graduation ceremony of 3 May
2022. This figure does not include Bachelor of Science conjoint degrees.
Information about graduates is publicly available in the University’s
Graduate Database, as published on the University’s website at

The total number of University graduates for 2022 for any particular
ceremony, or any specified degree, is available on the Graduate Database.
This constitutes a partial refusal of your request under section 18(d) of
the OIA, on the basis that the information requested is publicly
available.

 

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
