Dear Frank

We refer to your request below for a list of TVNZ infrastructure required
for our organisation to operate after a seismic event.

TVNZ’s broadcast television operations are delivered out of our Auckland
Central building, located at 100 Victoria Street West. This building has
been assessed to have a seismic capacity corresponding to 101% NBS (NZSEE
rating A+).

Should TVNZ’s Auckland building become compromised. Playout switches to a
backup facility located in the Auckland CBD (address withheld for security
reasons). This building has been assessed to have a seismic capacity
corresponding to 68% NBS (NZSEE rating B).

Should playout not be possible in Auckland at all, our broadcast services
can be distributed via our Wellington building located at 86-90 Lambton
Quay. This building has been assessed to have a seismic capacity
corresponding to 102% NBS (NZSEE rating A+).

Depending on the severity of the event, our broadcast could be anything
from a full studio production, to a text-based delivery of news updates.
TVNZ+ relies on cloud-based technology and this provides a range of
options of maintaining the service outside of our buildings.

TVNZ does not own or maintain antenna towers. Information regarding
preparations in this space can be directed to Kordia.

Yours sincerely
OIA Team
