NIWA Fraud/Negligence Case 2

Steven Cranston made this Official Information request to National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research Limited

Response to this request is long overdue. By law National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research Limited should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Steven Cranston

Dear National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research Limited,

I request all emails, texts, documents and other communication between NIWA and World Weather Attribution.

A recent study was released by World Weather Attribution which relied on the NIWA Clo Flo database and concluded that Cyclone Gabrielle was 20-30% more intensive due to climate change.

We seek to establish if NIWA has informed World Weather Attribution of the known deficiencies in the Cli Flo database and made them aware of the implications to the accuracy of their study (either before or after the public release of the study)

Yours faithfully,

Steven Cranston

Dear Enquiries,

This seems highly unusual? World Weather Attribution conducted the study that claimed Cyclone Gabrielle was much stronger due to climate change.

How did they collect the data to make this claim if there was no communication with NIWA?

Can you please clarify this

Yours sincerely,

Steven Cranston
