What expenditure has been cut to keep Wellington’s rate rise to a proposed 12.8%?
Geoff Palmer made this Official Information request to Wellington City Council
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Geoff Palmer to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Geoff Palmer
Dear Wellington City Council,
Media reports say council officers originally proposed a 17% rates rise this year:
"'We've done what we can to rein it in': Wellington's rates jump was originally 17%"
https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politic...
The mayor too said, “The council has already found savings to offset these pressures to keep the proposed rates increase at 12.8%.”:
"Where will you find $450? Wellington poised for another eye-popping rates rise"
https://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/ne...
What are these savings?
What, precisely, has been cut from the original rating increase proposal to "keep the increase to 12.8%"?
Yours faithfully,
Geoff Palmer
