Fencing in Linwood Park
V R made this Official Information request to Christchurch City Council
The request was successful.
From: V R
Dear Christchurch City Council,
When will the fencing and asphalt be removed from Linwood Park. It currently encloses a public space which was used for temporary housing following the earthquakes. Despite the houses removal the fencing is still in place and the full public park use is being denied to residents.
Yours faithfully,
Vicky

Dear Vicky,
Thank you for your email. You requested the following information, under
the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA):
“When will the fencing and asphalt be removed from Linwood Park. It
currently encloses a public space which was used for temporary housing
following the earthquakes”.
Council Response:
Work will be starting on site before Christmas 2022 and the first task
will be removal of the asphalt roadway.
The fencing will need to stay in place for safety reasons during the
period of remediation of the site, which we are anticipating will be
completed in approximately seven months' time.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review our
decision. Complaints can be sent by email to
[2][email address].
Publication of responses to LGOIMA requests
Please note: our LGOIMA responses may be published on the Christchurch
City Council website a month after they have been responded to, with
requesters’ personal details withheld. If you have any concerns about this
please contact the Official Information team on
[3][Christchurch City Council request email].
