Kia ora Sebastian,
I refer to your request under the Official Information Act 1982(OIA) to
Police dated 13 May 2022 for the following information:
I would like to make a request for information relating to the Police-led
interagency group that coordinated the cross-government response to the
protests that took place at Parliament earlier this year.
I would like to request:
ONE: Copies of the agenda and minutes of all meetings of this group, and
the group's terms of reference
TWO: Copies of all briefings to the Minister of Police on the topic of the
establishment of this group
THREE: Copies of all daily intelligence reports on the topic of the
protest, produced by Police and distributed to other agencies, for the
dates 5 February to 3 March 2022.
Can you confirm whether your request is a reference to the Officials
Committee for Domestic and External Security Coordination (ODESC), as
referenced for example in the following:
[1]https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/...
If so it would be necessary to transfer your request to the Department of
Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) as it is responsible for administering
ODESC.
If you could respond on the above point by the end of Friday 3 June that
would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Tobias Vandenberg

Dear Ministerial Services,
Thank you for your email. The Police-led inter-agency group I'm referring to is not ODESC. In a letter I received from DPMC a few weeks ago they advised me that following the one ODESC meeting held on 17 February relating to the protests at Parliament, "subsequent inter-agency meetings [were] led by the New Zealand Police and not DPMC."
The letter can be viewed here:
https://fyi.org.nz/request/18760/respons...
The inter-agency group I am referring to in my request to you is the one that led these "subsequent inter-agency meetings."
Hope this clears things up.
Yours sincerely,
Sebastian
