I refer to your request of 31 March 2022 for the following information:

I want to get a better understanding of the purpose of the National Gang Database.
What is the purpose of the database?
What gets a person added to the database?
How/why would a person get removed from the database?
Would the database list people who are dead?
Would the database list people who have left New Zealand?

Unfortunately we were not be able to meet the due date of 3 May 2022.

I can confirm that your request has been compiled and is currently progressing through our internal consultation process. Although I am unable to confirm a release date at this stage, in normal circumstances this process can take up to eight working days.
