New Zealand Emblem for Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee
Unmesh Kant Shah made this Official Information request to Ministry for Culture and Heritage
The request was successful.
From: Unmesh Kant Shah
Dear Ministry for Culture and Heritage,
Will there be a separate emblem in New Zealand for Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee? The emblem used the United Kingdom was announed following a competition, which was opened only for British residents.
For the Diamond Jubilee in 2012, the Government of Aotearoa New Zealand released a separate emblem for New Zealand. Will this be followed for Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee? As the Platinum Jubilee is a historic event, and Her Majesty being the first New Zealand monarch to reign for seven decades, the Government should announce a special and unique emblem.
The emblem may be used for all activities associated with the Platinum Jubilee in Aotearoa New Zealand, including community and national events, publications, social media, retail and merchandising.
Yours faithfully,
Unmesh
