Aotearoa Platinum Jubilee

Unmesh Kant Shah made this Official Information request to Ministry for Culture and Heritage

Ministry for Culture and Heritage did not have the information requested.

From: Unmesh Kant Shah

Dear Ministry for Culture and Heritage,

Sine the last FYI request, it has been two months and no new information about the Jubilee celebrations in New Zealand has been released. In your reply, you said that, apart from the tree planting and beacon lighting, there will be other events too in Aotearoa celebrating the Platinum Jubilee. What events have been planned?

Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom have all announced a series of events that will take place during the Jubilee weekend in June, and throughout the Platinum Jubilee year. New Zealand should also make public the events that will take place in the country throughout the Jubilee year, celebrating the Queen's seventy years of service to Aotearoa New Zealand. When will the New Zealand Platinum Jubilee programme be unveiled?

Events such as parades, exhibitions, concerts, illuminations, renaming places after Her Majesty, are among the many options through which we can mark this important milestone. What options are being considered?

Yours sincerely,
Unmesh Kant Shah

In your email below, you appear to be referring to a response provided by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC), not the Ministry for Culture and Heritage. In this circumstances we would normally consider transferring your request (as happened when you made the initial request to the Ministry) however we can see from the FYI page that you have already asked the same question of the DPMC. As such, we do not believe a transfer to be necessary. However, please advise us if this is not the case and you are requesting additional information. We would be happy to assist.

Apologies for our delay in responding to you.

MCH is not managing the Platinum Jubilee programme. This is managed by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. In our correspondence below we have advised you that the DPMC is the appropriate agency to respond to this request. MCH does not hold any additional information in relation to your request.
