In response to your question regarding “plans and procedures does the Ministry have in the event of the passing of HRM Queen Elizabeth II". The Ministry will direct Government buildings to fly the New Zealand flag at half-mast. We are aware that you have made a similar request to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). DPMC is the lead agency for the New Zealand government’s response when Her Majesty the Queen passes away so it is likely that further information is held by that agency.
You have a right to ask an Ombudsman about our response to this request.
