Good morning Cody,

Thank you for your Local Government Official Information Act request dated
the 6^th of January 2022.

This morning I have been delegated the task of responding to your request
and wish to do so with appropriate content and methodology that meets
your requirements.

For confirmation, you asked for:

“Please supply all water quality lab test results / reports for the month
of December 2021 through to 2022 year-to-date.”

The Timaru District Council manages 9 potable water schemes and carries
out a systematic and comprehensive water sampling and testing programme.
In addition we have been carrying an extensive range of unscheduled water
sampling and testing in order to assist with determining both the cause
and the solution to the current Timaru Urban Water discolouration issue.

Therefore can you please advise whether you want to receive tests results
for all 9 water schemes, or the test results for Timaru Urban only?

At our Timaru water Project Control Group (PCG) meeting yesterday we
determined that all the Timaru water test results, both scheduled and
unscheduled should be published on our Timaru District Council website.
The benefit of this approach is that as further test results are received
they can be published and therefore available to the public on an on-going
basis.  Our intention is to get the results loaded to the website this
week.

You asked for ‘year to date’ results, but given the lag time between
sampling, testing and receipt of the reports (which can take up to 5 days)
and the holiday season closure of the chemical testing laboratories there
will be very few results for the period 1 January to the date of your
request, being the 6^th of January 2022.

Can you therefore please advise if publication of the test results on the
web site will meet the intent of the official request.

I am also very happy to discuss further if you wish to call me on the
numbers below.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kind regards
