Accessible vaccination centres

Joanna McLeod made this Official Information request to Capital and Coast District Health Board

The request was successful.

From: Joanna McLeod

Dear Capital and Coast District Health Board,

Please tell me what the weight rating of the small plastic foldable chairs provided in the Kilbirnie vaccination centre is, and if any consideration was given to how inappropriate they are for the large numbers of group 3 members who are accessing the vaccine now due to their high BMI.

Please also supply me with the reasoning behind a lack of supply of 38mm needles needed for the larger patients.

Yours faithfully,

Joanna McLeod

Dear Capital and Coast District Health Board,
By law, you should have responded to me by August 25, 2021.

I'm still waiting.

Yours faithfully,

From: OIA Request [CCDHB]
Capital and Coast District Health Board

Kia ora Joanna,

On the 4^th of November 2021, The Office of The Ombudsman alerted us to
the fact that we had not responded to an OIA request that you had asked
through FYI.org.nz

I would like to apologise for the lack of response to your query—a process
change meant that we did not receive and process your request as we should
have. I assure you that we have now logged this and have made it a
priority to respond to as soon as possible.

When your request was made, Hutt Valley and Capital & Coast DHBs were in
the process of establishing a new streamlined inbox for Official
Information Act Requests. This involved disestablishing a distribution
list, and creating a new mailbox which now receives requests for both
DHBs.

From what I can ascertain, your OIA came in while we were in the middle of
this process, and as an unfortunate result, was lost.

As above, I can confirm that we now have the request and are working to
get a response to you quickly.

Again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

If you have any queries, please feel free to contact CCDHB by return email
or by emailing us at [1][email address]. If any additional factors
come to light which are relevant to your request, please do not hesitate
to contact us so that these can be taken into account.

Ngâ mihi,

This answer may be true now but on the date that I submitted it they did NOT have the needles available (they had to go and get some especially for me) and they did NOT have the larger chairs available (staff had taken all of them)
