Dear New Zealand Police,
I request a breakdown of the following statistics for the past 5 year period of 2016-2020.
Number of people charged and/or convicted (both seperate if possible) with the following
Possession of a class C drug.
Possession of a class B drug.
Possession of a class A drug.
Possession for supply of a class C drug.
Possession for supply of a class B drug.
Possession for supply of a class A drug.
If available i'd also like a breakdown of what the drug charge (including totals) was for each class above. Ie, number of people charged for possession of cannabis.

The Ministry of Justice (the Ministry) uses Australian and New Zealand
Standard Offence Classification (ANZSOC) divisions to categorise charges
and convictions. More information on ANZSOC divisions can be obtained
from: abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mf/1234.0
The Ministry has identified the following ANZSOC divisions that may be
relevant to your request:
102: Deal or traffic in illicit drugs
103: Manufacture or cultivate illicit drugs
104: Possess and/or use illicit drugs
109: Other illicit drug offences
Could you please let me know which of these above divisions are relevant
to your request and how you would like to proceed? Once we receive your
response, we can progress your OIA application.
