Good afternoon,

I refer to your Official Information request dated 26 May 2021 partially
transferred to the Ministry of Justice for response.

It appears likely that your original request will need to be clarified or
amended to enable us to respond.  You are requesting the following
information:

The number of people convicted (both separate if possible) with the
following:

 1. Possession of a class C drug.
 2. Possession of a class B drug.
 3. Possession of a class A drug.
 4. Possession for supply of a class C drug.
 5. Possession for supply of a class B drug.
 6. Possession for supply of a class A drug.

The Ministry of Justice (the Ministry) uses Australian and New Zealand
Standard Offence Classification (ANZSOC) divisions to categorise charges
and convictions. More information on ANZSOC divisions can be obtained
from: abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mf/1234.0

The Ministry has identified the following ANZSOC divisions that may be
relevant to your request:

102: Deal or traffic in illicit drugs

103: Manufacture or cultivate illicit drugs

104: Possess and/or use illicit drugs

109: Other illicit drug offences

Could you please let me know which of these above divisions are relevant
to your request and how you would like to proceed? Once we receive your
response, we can progress your OIA application.

Regards
