Dear Ministry of Justice.
I request a breakdown from the past 5 years of the following statistics.
For each year, the number of permanent name suppression orders separated into convicted and discharged persons.
Number of name suppression orders grouped by crime charged with.
Number of permanent name suppression orders that were appealed by the crown or the media, with the appeal results and what the charged crime was.
Please provide a response similar to the following previously asked.

Thank you for your email of 20 March 2022 requesting information regarding
permanent name suppression.
A response to your request is currently being prepared and we would like
to confirm our proposed approach with you:
o We can provide the data in response to part 1 of your request.
o We can provide the data in response to part 2 of your request. The
charges will be broken down by Australian and New Zealand Standard
Offence Classification (ANZSOC) division.
o In response to part 3 of your request, we can provide the number of
name suppression appeal cases per year, broken down by appeal outcome.
However, we cannot provide this data at the charge level as we do not
hold this information.
Please let us know if you have any concerns about our proposed approach.
