Vehicle infringement notices relating to Hutt Road cycleway
Michael Brown made this Official Information request to Wellington City Council
The request was successful.
From: Michael Brown
Dear Wellington City Council,
Please provide the following information relating to the Hutt Road walkway/cycleway between the Caltex service station north of Kaiwharawhara and Thorndon Quay. This walkway/cycleway is marked with signs stating it is for cycle and pedestrian use only.
1. Are you responsible for issuing of vehicle infringement notices relating to the cycleway/walkway? By infringement, I mean vehicles such as cars, motorbikes, trucks, goods vans, and buses parking on the cycleway or driving along it.
2. If you are responsible, provide data around notices issued since the cycleway/walkway opened in November 2019. Ideally, the data would be broken down by month since November 2019, giving number of notices issued per month, type of infringement (e.g., parking, driving) and type of vehicle.
3. Provide information about how often council officers check for vehicle infringements on this route at present.
If you have any other relevant comment around the monitoring of vehicle infringements along this cycling/walking corridor, I would be interested to hear it.
Yours faithfully,
Michael Brown
