Dear Ana,
Fletcher Residential Limited is not a natural person so the Privacy Act would not apply in this case.
Note the Ombudsman already ruled on this exact matter in case number 391635 which found that Section 7(2)(a) LGOIMA did not apply because the information requested was about a company and not a natural person.
Accordingly I am expecting to still continue to receive the information requested within the statutory timeframe.
Yours sincerely,
Cody C

Dear Cody,
My apologies for our initial response. We can advise you that both properties
are owned by Fletcher Residential Ltd and the two accounts are up to date.
I am still to be advised if the Christchurch City Council has offered or intends
to take ownership. I will follow up on this.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at

Dear Cody,
Thank you for your patience.
The manager of the Property Consultancy team has advised the following:
We have no instruction to take ownership. However on the rare occasions in
the past when the Council have forced rating sales those have been driven
by the Rates team.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
