I refer to your request of 15 October 2020 under the Official Information
Act for the "proposed salary" for the new Provost position at the
University. There is no "proposed salary" for this position. This
constitutes a refusal of your request under section 18(g) of the Official
Information Act, as the requested information is not held by the
University.

 

The University does, of course, have some information concerning what
salary may be negotiated with a successful applicant for the new Provost
position. However, disclosing that information would prejudice or
disadvantage the University in those salary negotiations, and a request
for that information may accordingly be refused under section 9(j) of the
Official Information Act.

 

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
