Cameron Leakey made this Official Information request to University of Auckland
The request was refused by University of Auckland.
From: Cameron Leakey
Dear University of Auckland,
In an All Staff Forum on 15th September - Vice Chancellor Dawn Freshwater stated that she was donating a portion of her salary. Under the OIA, I request information on how much money Professor Freshwater has donated and to which charity or fund.
Yours faithfully,
Cameron Leakey

University of Auckland
Dear Cameron,
I refer to your email of 15 October 2020.
The Vice-Chancellor and other senior leaders of the University have made
significant and on-going donations to the student and staff welfare funds
in response to the State Services Commissioner’s suggestion. However, this
was at their own discretion and is a private matter, so we will not be
publishing figures. Note that a majority of Aotearoa New Zealand’s
Vice-Chancellors used the opportunity to take the pay cut to donate to
student hardship or staff hardship in some way.
The information requested is not held by the University. Your request is
refused under section 18(g) of the Official Information Act. You have the
right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with
this response.
Yours sincerely,
Rebecca Ewert
University of Auckland
