Dear Acima,

 

I refer to your request of  1 December 2021. The University can provide
the average GPA of students who completed a programme in a particular year
– e.g. the average GPA of students who completed the BSc in 2021 – but
cannot provide the average GPA of all BSc students at all stages of
progress through the programme at any given time.

 

Please clarify by 15 December 2021 whether you wish to request the average
GPA of students who completed the BSc at the University of Auckland in
2021. Please note, if you do amend or clarify your request, this will be
considered to be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum
statutory timeframe for response—see section 15(1AA) of the OIA.

 

If you do not respond by 15 December 2021 or advise that you are
requesting the average GPA of all BSc students at all stages of progress
through the programme as at the date of your request – 1 December 2021 –
or another specified date, it is likely that the University will refuse
your request under either section 18(f) of the OIA as requiring
substantial collation or research or section 18(g) of the OIA on the basis
that the information is not held by the University.

Information Act does not require the University to create it. Accordingly,
