recognition/fingerprinting technology, since 19 October 2017.”
Upon investigation, we have now established that the request was assigned
to another user and has sat in a queue. It has now been re-assigned, and
I will action it as soon as possible.
I apologise for the delay in responding to your request.

Good morning Andrew,
I would like to clarify what documentation you are looking for to better
assist you. The request is still very broad and if we could discuss more
specifically what it is you are looking for, I can help narrow down your
OIA request.
Is there a number I could call you on please?
Kind Regards
Tanja

Kia ora,
As discussed on the phone today, I'm interested in discussions that Police have had around adopting the use of facial recognition technologies, in particular whether privacy and ethics considerations have been taken into account, so documents like Privacy Impact Assessments would be of particular relevance.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Chen

Also unfortunate because the letter itself contains hyperlinks that are not clickable. Thankfully I can find the referenced materials elsewhere, but the inaccessible format does make it a bit trickier to parse.

You could ask Police to provide an accessible copy, if necessary. I've had success with this approach before, though usually I've already asked for it in an accessible format in my original request, and it has sometimes required going to the Ombudsman.
Things to do with this request
- Add an annotation (to help the requester or others)
- Download a zip file of all correspondence

It's a real shame Police has chosen to release all this information in an inaccessible format. It looks like the response is 196 pages of images of text.
