Car crash at Bush road and Albany hwy intersection

Dear Auckland Transport,

I was involved in a crash at the intersection of bush road and albany hwy. I was heading back towards Glenfield at approx 12.20pm on 05/08/20 when I went into the back of someone due to a epileptic black out. The crash reference I have is PO43176572.

The accident was between my Silver Mazda atenza(registration LFG737) and a Blue toyota (registration LWR306) .

I will need this to show my doctor so if this could be sent through as soon as possible it would be much appreciated.

Hi Varsha,

Couple of things. The incident was not on that date, it occurred on the 5th of August 2020.

And it occurred at an intersection with a set of lights. This intersection is bush road, albany highway, and schnapper rock road.

Hope this clarifies things. Thanks for looking into this.

On 25/08/2020 you asked for CCTV footage. 

 

I'm sorry to hear of the incident. Our Auckland Transport Operations
Centre (ATOC) have had a look at that intersection and we don't have any
cameras in that location. Therefore, your request is refused until section
17(e) of the LGOIMA, as the information does not exist. 

 

We understand that this isn’t the outcome you hoped for.

Hi Varsha,

To ensure you are looking at the correct intersection below is a link showing the camera at these lights.

When the policeman came to see me after, he showed me a photo of the rear of my car and said he had seen the video. If you could look into this a bit more that would be great as I really need this for my doctor.

Again, this crash happened on 5th August at 12.20pm.

The ATOC team have had another look and the camera at that intersection does not belong to Auckland Transport. I would suggest contacting the Police Officer assigned to your case to help get a copy of the footage he referred to.
