Dear Auckland Transport,

Could you please provide CCTV footage for Somerville Roundabout (In front of Caltex - Sumerville and Meadowlands Shopping Plaza) if there is any CCTV Camera.

I was driving my green Honda fit from Millhouse Dr to Meadowland Dr. There is a black Audi A4 avant hit my left back wheel, the car didn't give way to me. I saw the guy ask me drive forward, when I pull over my car and get off the car, the guy disappeared. Hit and run.

Incident happened on the 12 Jun 2019 (Wednesday) 10:45AM. For the insurance purpose, I need to provide the information to them. Please kindly arrange asap. I will appreciate your quick response.

I've collected all the footage from the store near the roundabout, finally I saw the guy drive back to the Millhouse Dr., maybe he will drive to the Botany Rd and Millhouse Dr intersection. Can you please also provide the footage from the Botany Rd and Millhouse Dr intersection? Thanks. If the footage only keep for a week please be quick up back it up, thanks!

Thank you for your request for footage for Somerville Roundabout (in front
of Caltex - Sumerville and Meadowlands Shopping Plaza) on 12 June.

 

We do not have any cameras at this location your request is therefore
refused under Section 17(e) of the LGOIMA as the footage requested does
not exist.  I am sorry that we could not assist you on this occasion.

 

We trust the above information has addressed your request however should
you believe that we have not dealt with your request appropriately, you
are able to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman in accordance
with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA Act, and seek an investigation and review
in regard to this matter.

Thank you for requesting CCTV. I am sorry to hear that you were the victim
of a hit and run.

 

We have saved the footage for the intersection of Botany Road and
Millhouse Drive because you have explained that the vehicle that hit you
drove in that direction following the incident. Unfortunately, the footage
is not clear enough to conclusively determine the makes of the vehicles.
By any chance did you get the licence plate of the black Audi A4? If you
did we can look again to see if the we have footage.

 

Just so you aware we do not provide CCTV footage to members of the public
and we usually provide CCTV footage of accidents to the Police. As the
CCTV we hold does not contain an accident I am unsure if we will be able
to assist on this occasion.

I hope you are well. Please let me know if you obtained the licence plate
of the black Audi A4? We have saved the footage requested even though we
cannot guarantee the footage contains the information you seek.

 

As mentioned before we do not supply CCTV footage directly to members of
the public. If you would like the footage to be provided to the Police
please contact the Police to let them know we have the footage.

Thank you for your email. My colleague has looked at the footage again this morning and, although we can see a car which fits the description, we are unable to identify the licence plate due to the video quality.
