From: Gabriel Pollard
Dear Tom
The number and typology of the 1,000 additional transitional housing
places delivered in each region will depend on potential opportunities,
due diligence on properties to ensure they are warm, dry and safe, and the
result of commercial negotiations, as well as where there are families in
emergency motel accommodation. Because of the negotiations the Ministry
will need to undertake means we cannot publicly forecast numbers in
specific regions or cities. Your request is therefore refused under
section 9(2)(j) of the Act to enable the Ministry to carry on, without
prejudice or disadvantage, commercial negotiations.
The Ministry regularly publishes a series of resources that track our
progress against our targets, including transitional and other housing
support. You can access these publications on our website here:
[1]www.hud.govt.nz/community-and-public-housing/follow-our-progress/.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review of my response by
the Ombudsman, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant
details can be found on the Ombudsman’s website

Kind regards,
Gabriel Pollard
