Tom Dickie made this Official Information request to Ministry of Social Development
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Tom Dickie to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Tom Dickie
Dear Ministry of Social Development,
Please advise, in financial terms, the amount of NZ dollars provided to Registered Community Housing Providers (CHPs) and the resultant number of people occupied in new housing accommodation constructed in the calendar year of 2019, as a direct consequence of the monies provided to CHPs within the calendar year of 2019, that otherwise would not have resulted in the housing accommodation having been been constructed and people housed.
If this enquiry is more associated with HUD please advise and forward the request to HUD.
Yours faithfully,
Tom Dickie

Dear Tom
Thank you for your email of 14 March 2020 to the Ministry of Social
Development requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Please advise, in financial terms, the amount of NZ dollars provided to
Registered Community Housing Providers (CHPs) and the resultant number of
people occupied in new housing accommodation constructed in the calendar
year of 2019, as a direct consequence of the monies provided to CHPs
within the calendar year of 2019, that otherwise would not have resulted
in the housing accommodation having been been constructed and people
housed.
On 17 March 2020 your request was transferred to the Ministry of Housing
and Urban Development (the Ministry) for response, as the information
requested is more closely connected with our functions.
I understand you have received responses to several of the requests you
made in March 2020 already. However, with the Ministry’s shift to focus on
the development of emergency policy and legislation in response to
COVID-19, some groups within the Ministry are being called on for
extraordinary tasks, which are competing with their ability to provide
input within usual timeframes. While we continue to work on responding to
all requests made under the Act, I ask that you bear with us in terms of
the time it may take to provide you with a response in this case. If your
requirement for this information changes during this time, please do not
hesitate to inform us. This will enable us to reassign our resources to
other requests.
The Act requires that I specify the period of an extension and the reasons
for the extension. As such, at this stage, I wish to advise that the
Ministry needs to extend the time available to respond to you by 12
working days to 6 May 2020, as the consultations necessary to make a
decision on the request are such that a proper response to the request
cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit, as provided for
under section 15A(1)(b) of the Act.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review of this decision by
the Ombudsman, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant
details can be found on the Ombudsman’s website
