From: Gareth Watkins
Dear New Zealand Police,
Please supply all information you have regarding an incident at Pukeahu Park in central Wellington on Friday night - 22 Nov 2019. NZ Police would have received an emergency call at 20:44 ; approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes after the first 111 call was received by Wellington Free Ambulance.
The call related to a male falling backwards approximately one metre onto concrete and hitting the back of his head. He was bleeding from his head and slipping in and out of consciousness. Emergency response did not occur until 90 minutes after the first 111 call was made. It required 3 members of the public and at least 4 calls to 111 to get attendance at this event.
At the time NZ Police said they had been in contact with Wellington Free Ambulance over the incident and that a police unit had been dispatched but had subsequently been diverted.
Please supply all official information relating to this event - including audio transcripts and any correspondence between agencies.
I am a New Zealand citizen residing in New Zealand. Please reply to this FYI address as there is public interest in this event.
