Advice on the cost of a proposed student bus fare

Ben Moore made this Official Information request to Wellington Regional Council

The request was successful.

From: Ben Moore

Dear Wellington Regional Council,

On 6th May 2013 The Dominion Post cited Economic Well-Being Committee chairperson Peter Glensor as stating the cost of implementing a tertiary concession bus fare as $4million per annum.

I am interested in the origin of this value. To this end I request records of all advice and correspondence received by Mr Glensor, including any memos, reports, data or other documentation used in arriving at this figure.

Yours faithfully,
Ben Moore

Dear Mr Moore

We are working on your information request. However, in the interim we can
inform you that the $4 million figure quoted in the media, relating to the
revenue impact of a student concession, has been reported to Council in a
variety of reports that are available on our website at
[1]http://www.gw.govt.nz/fare-structure-rev.... The most detailed
explanation is contained in the Exploration of Options report dated June
2013 in Section 12.1 (page 28).

This may be enough to answer your question, but we will continue to work
on your information request to the original scope and timeframe unless we
hear from you to the contrary.

Kind regards
