From: Wendy Pond
Dear Department of Conservation,
Second request for Communication records for Moehau and Papakai Possum and rat control operations carried out during October 2017
I am referring to a response from the Hauraki Director of Operations (David Speirs): Our ref: 18-E-1075, File ref: DOC-5696202, 8 February 2019, Wendy Pond
I asked : “...Please provide me with copies of the material supplied to the Public Health Officer in evidence of compliance with the Guideline” for the Moehau and Papakai operations.
The Director (David Speirs) provided me with a copy of the application form for Moehau lodged on 14 August 2017. The application forms had already been provided to me under OIA, and this was not my question.
The DoC officers who signed the Moehau and Papakai application forms made a declaration that "All groups consulted with have been recorded in the consultation plan. Refer to the attached communication record."
Q. Please provide the communication records for the Moehau and Papakai operations carried out in October 2017 on the Coromandel peninsula.
Q. Please state whether the communication records were provided to the permitting authority, the Public Health Officer at Waikato District Health Board.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Wendy Pond
