Data Used by the Treatened Species Strategy algorithm
Kilo Nasan made this Official Information request to Department of Conservation
The request was successful.
From: Kilo Nasan
Dear Department of Conservation,
I recently came across the Threatened Species Strategy algorithm on your website: https://www.doc.govt.nz/get-involved/hav...
I'm always happy to see evidence-based policy making and especially pleased you decided to proactively release the source code used. However, the data used by this algorithm hasn't been released.
I therefore wish to request all data required to run the Threatened Species Strategy algorithm as it appears on the above web page.
I'm keen to replicate the results of the Threatened Species Strategy so please provide the data sets as they were used for this report i.e. without any updates.
Ngā mihi,
Kilo Nasan.

Good afternoon Kilo,
Thank you for your Official Information Act request to the Department of
Conservation on 1 August 2019 regarding:
“I recently came across the Threatened Species Strategy algorithm on your

As it turns out we had released the list of Threatened Species data that
the algorithm was applied to back in July 2018, and posted on DOC’s OIA
responses page as we had other similar requests. However due to an error
arising from a recent website migration process, it was no longer
visible. I have worked with our Web Communications team over the last two
days and managed to have this data reinstated to be visible on your end.
The republished documents can be viewed under the ‘Threatened species’
heading located at: [2]https://www.doc.govt.nz/news/oia-respons....

Laura
