Recruit Application Withdrawls

Thomas Holmes made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Thomas Holmes to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Thomas Holmes

Dear New Zealand Police,

For each stage of the selection process please outline how many recruits successfully made it past this stage vs how many applicants made it to this stage of the process.

Please format the data in a table with columns for the 'Step', 'Reach Step', and 'Pass Step', 'Failed Step', 'Withdrawn During Step'.
Where 'Reach Step' is the number of applicants that reach that step,
'Pass Step' is the number of applicants who pass that step,
'Failed Step' is the number of applicants who failed the step due to not meeting the requirements, and
'Withdrew During Step' is the number of applicants who withdrew their application through their own accord i.e. did not fail but chose to no longer apply to join the Police.

For example.
The first row of the table would look like the following:
Step, Reach Step, Pass Step, Failed Step, Withdrew During Step
Initial Vetting, 1000, 700, 250, 50

This would indicate that of the 1000 applicants that reached the Initial Vetting step, 700 of these passed the step, 250 failed the step due to not meeting the requirements, and 50 withdrew their application to join the police during this step.

Please make the data available in five different tables for:
1. Applications from 1 March 2014 to 28 February 2015
2. Applications from 1 March 2015 to 29 February 2016
3. Applications from 1 March 2016 to 28 February 2017
4. Applications from 1 March 2017 to 28 February 2018
5. Applications from 1 March 2018 to 31 January 2019

I refer you to the FYI request at the following link where similar data was obtained. I now request a further breakdown of these numbers in order to further analyse these.

Yours faithfully,
