Rural Fire Meetings

Alan Thompson made this Official Information request to Department of Conservation

The request was successful.

From: Alan Thompson

Department of Conservation,

The centralisation of forest and rural fire in Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) has resulted in significant changes to the national organisation and the roles/relationships of the various organisations and stakeholders. Previously a number of committees and other forums provided regular and formal meeting where rural fire matters were reviewed, discussed and addressed.

1. With respect to forest and rural fire, what national meetings that involve the
following parties (all or some of) has the Department of Conservation participated
in as a formal party since 1 July 2017 (when FENZ came in being):

- NZ Federated Farmers
- FENZ
- FENZ Local Area Committees (Trials)
- NZ Forest Owners Association
- NZ Farm Forestry Association
- NZ Defence Force.

2. For any of the above, please provide the dates and a copy of the minutes of
each meeting.

Thank you,

Alan Thompson
